2. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect only for the following purposes. We do not use it for advertising profiling, behavioural targeting, or any purpose not listed here.
- Platform improvement:Aggregated analytics help us understand which tests, guides, and features are most useful so we can prioritise development.
- Support & communication:Contact form submissions are used solely to respond to your message. We do not retain them beyond the resolution of your query unless legally required.
- Preference persistence:Cookies and LocalStorage store your settings (theme, keyboard layout, test duration) so you don't have to re-configure them on each visit.
- Security & abuse prevention:Server logs are retained for up to 7 days to detect and respond to malicious traffic, then automatically deleted.
- Legal compliance:We may retain or disclose data if required by applicable law or a valid legal order from a competent authority.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
Typingzoo uses a minimal set of cookies and browser LocalStorage. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any third-party cookie that profiles you across the web.

You can clear all cookies and LocalStorage data at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will reset your preferences and local score history, but will not affect your ability to use Typingzoo.
4. Third-Party Services
Typingzoo uses a small number of third-party services to operate the platform. Each is listed below with the specific reason for its use and a link to their own privacy policy.
- Google Fonts— Used to load the Inter typeface. Google may receive your IP address when fetching font files. We use
display=optionalso fonts load asynchronously and do not block rendering. Google Privacy Policy → - Analytics provider— We use an analytics tool to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. No cross-site tracking or advertising profiles are built.

5. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected.
- Server logs (IP addresses):Auto-deleted after 7 days.
- Analytics data:Aggregated and retained for up to 14 months, then purged.
- Contact form submissions:Retained in our support inbox for up to 12 months after resolution, then deleted.
- LocalStorage / cookies:Stored entirely in your own browser. You control them and can delete them at any time.
6. Your Rights
Regardless of your location, you have the following rights with respect to any personal data Typingzoo holds about you. To exercise any right, email us at [email protected].
Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom benefit from additional rights under GDPR and UK GDPR. Users in California may also have rights under the CCPA. We honour these rights for all users worldwide as best practice.

7. Children's Privacy
Typingzoo does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Our platform is designed for learners and professionals of all ages worldwide. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal data to us, please contact [email protected]and we will delete it promptly.
8. Data Security
Typingzoo is served entirely over HTTPS. We do not store passwords or payment information — there are no user accounts and the platform is free. The only personal data we may hold is contact form submissions in our support inbox, which is access-controlled and accessible only to authorised team members.
While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to avoid sharing sensitive personal information beyond what is needed to resolve your support query.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. For significant changes, we will post a notice on the Typingzoo homepage for at least 30 days.
